  • Alexander Butler graduated from Indiana University with his PhD in Curriculum and Instruction. He teaches social studies methods for elementary and secondary school teachers. Previously, he has taught undergraduate courses in philosophy of education, multicultural education, and the foundations of education. As a K-12 educator, he taught Spanish and social studies.
    His research focuses on the beliefs of teacher candidates and the ways they are able to enact those beliefs in their student teaching experience. Other research interests include the edTPA, teacher education programs, and teacher candidates' biases. Outside of the formal classroom he has spent the last decade working in a variety of educational contexts with urban students in community development."
