Her research area is on head and neck orthopedics physical therapy and the application on rehabilitation. Her publications include studies evaluating head and neck posture; electromyography of the masticatory and cervical muscles; and neck dysfunction in temporomandibular disorders, and the impact of head and neck stability on orofacial health.
Her research publications include collaborations with other disciplines including Dentistry, Nurse Anesthesia, Engineering, and currently her research agenda includes a multidisciplinary collaboration with colleagues from Communication Sciences and Disorders from FIU.
Dr. Gadotti is also a research associate at Geriatrics Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) at VA Miami Hospital. She collaborates in research with colleagues from Brazil and Spain and is the Editorial Board member for Dental and Medical Problems Journal from Poland.
More recently at FIU, she expanded her research to evaluate eye, head and trunk movement in subjects with whiplash injury. She established collaborations with colleagues from FIU’s Lehman Center for Transportation Research and colleges of Electrical Engineering and Public Health to pilot test methods to evaluate subjects with whiplash injury in a driving simulator.
Her MSc in Physical Therapy was funded by a Brazilian government funding agency (CAPES) and her PhD research study was funded by the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada, and the Alberta Training Program in Bone and Joint Heath from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, where she tested the measurement properties of photogrammetry to measure head and neck posture.
