  • Luke Thominet's research has appeared in the edited collections, Effective Teaching of Technical Communication, and User Experience as Innovative Academic Practice, and in several journals, including The Journal of Business and Technical Communication, Communication Design Quarterly, and Technical Communication Quarterly. He teaches courses in technical communication, rhetorical theory, document design, and academic writing, among other topics.

  • Luke Thominet's research interests include technical communication, user experience, and design thinking, and rhetoric. His work uses mixed methods discourse and content analysis methods to investigate communication practices related to game development and ethical research practices. His recent and ongoing projects examine a range of topics, including community participation during video game development, academic job market correspondence, team-based learning in technical communication courses, the design of programmatic learning outcomes, the voice of community members on institutional review boards, and plain language research recruitment and consent processes for cancer clinical trials.
