abstract

  • There are many types of vaginal forms which have been suggested for dilatation and/or maintenance of vaginal patency. Invariably, some congenital anomalies of the vagina will require forms with special requirements, i.e. to allow menstruation to continue as the healing process is completed. Other forms should be of soft foam rubber, rather than hard or rigid, to minimize the risk of fistula formation. This report presents a variety of vaginal forms which have been developed and/or used at The Johns Hopkins Hospital for specific clinical findings.
