abstract

  • The development of infrastructure within emerging Asian economies provides expansive opportunities for American engineering and construction firms. To achieve success in these markets, American firms must recognize and effectively manage the triple alliance between themselves, the host government and the local firms. If there is a gap in their ability to manage this triad, firms may need to take measures to improve their status, or the attractiveness of the opportunity may need to be reassessed. Three areas where successful firms have gained some advantage over the competition are presented.
