  • The effects of windows layer thickness and front contact barrier on build-in potential and p-layer barrier height of microcrystalline silicon solar cell had been examined using AMPS-1D (Analysis of Microelectronic and Photonic structures) program developed by Pennsylvania state University, and the mechanism was analyzed. The simulation results indicate that the performance of microcrystalline silicon solar cells get better when the barrier height of the front contact increase. When the barrier height of the front contact is less than 1.30eV, the thickness of p-layer strongly influences performance of solar cell and the best performance of the solar cell will be achieved when indows layer thickness is 12 nm.
