  • The mean arm ratio of the human late replicating X chromosome is 1.500 ± 0.014 in 120 cells from 14 females, which is similar to that of the non late replicating X in males. The authors detected no female in whom the late replicating X's arm ratio mean differed significantly from that of the entire group, which is evidence against autoradiographically detectable, structural polymorphism. In addition, the arm ratio of the late replicating X showed no greater variance than did that of autosome No. 2.
