abstract

  • The issues related to analysis of environmental loads on pretressed cable net structures are presented. A method to establishes wind loads, which comprises tests on a scale model in a boundary layer end tunnel, and regulates combination of the information with statistical data on wind speeds and directions in the area of the site of construction, is discussed. A systematic and realistic process of predicting snow loads, which involves checking of multiple varibles related to snow falls rates, rainfall, temperature, and solar radiation, is also discussed. A finite area element (FAE) method that uses computer simulation and wind tunnel to determine the detailed wind velocity field over various wind directions, is also presented.
