abstract

  • The pressure difference across the rainscreen portion of a rainscreen wall system is important from a wind loading as well as a rain penetration standpoint. This paper describes wind tunnel tests on a 1:200 scale model incorporating two types of rainscreen wall systems. One type allows a high degree of communication of air space pressures horizontally including around corners while the other is subdivided into small independent compartments. The results indicate substantial differences in performance of the two wall types.
