abstract

  • The typical characteristics of the exterior pressure patterns on high rise buildings and the causes of localized 'hot-spots' of very high suction are reviewed. The effects of building shape, surrounding buildings and wind climate are discussed based on wind tunnel investigations of a number of high-rise buildings and on available full scale data.
